These chess pieces are a reproduction of the Sinquefield Cup Chess Pieces for the 2016 Tournament. Knights of this design are inspired from famous Imperial design of Chessmen. It may possibly be the handsomest knights that we have made. 

The set has been traditionally triple weighted with lead infused in the base of the chess pieces.

Cracked ebony King and Queen from humidity change

The pieces arrived in beautiful condition. Unfortunately, due to our very dry and cold winters, the base of the ebony pieces are starting to split. That is not Royal Chess Mall's fault; just something to be aware of if you live in a dry climate.

Should be called "practically perfect" instead!

The pieces so nice. The ebony side is so beautiful that I just want to play as black!

The "slight imperfections" are only noticeable if you're examining very closely, but when you play a game that all disappears. For example, one of the queen's top of crown isn't perfectly round compared to the other, but you'd have to be seriously OCD to pass up on such a great deal!
