I bought 3 storage boxes for different size chess pieces and I am very satisfied this product. The quality of the storage boxes is very good and was above my expectations. It has a nice texture and a good finish. As far as I’m concerned, it’s a must-have for keeping those valuable chess pieces safe from scratches or damage.

There was an issue with the availability, but that was solved within a couple of hours. They even offered me an upgrade. So it’s fair to say that customer service is what you expected it to be. I will most certainly visit this webshop again in the future.

I had purchased a Chess set off House of Staunton and was incredibly disappointed when it arrived. Both in quality and design. I decided to try another company and man...when I opened this up I was so thankful. It was exactly what I hoped it would be. I purchased some 3.9 inch Staunton design pieces to go with it and man...what a set I have now. I absolutely adore this set and love to play on it. Thank you Royal Chess Mall! Five stars for the chess pieces, they are spectacular, but one star less due to the measures in the sheet on the description being very approximate. In particular the king measures 43 mm (not 42) at the base, the bishop's base is about 37 mm (not 39), etc. Also the overall weight is about 100 grams less than declared in the data sheet (with the black pieces, in ebony, which generally have slightly smaller dimensions than the white ones, but overall weigh about ninety grams more). It is therefore a very expensive chess set, but it is worth it, except for the inaccuracy in the measurements (already noted in two other sets previously purchased). Reasonably fast shipping to Italy. Also included (surprisingly) was a soft pouch. Well done Royal Chess Mall!

You can easily find more elaborate pieces with more attitude and more intricate embellishments. However, the quiet aesthetics of these pieces make them stand out as a testament to the perfection of the Staunton design. Pictures don’t do these pieces proper justice, you have to feel them to really appreciate them. I highly recommend these pieces. These pieces are also a delight to play with, designed with functionality in mind. On top of all this, RCM also offers an excellent support. You won’t regret this buy.

If there was any imperfections I could not tell. I am a proud Canadian owner and repeat customer.

This is the first time I bought from Royal Chess Mall and I was not disappointed, even with the "imperfect" version of this 1849 jacques, I can hardly spot the imperfection among the pieces. It's just perfect for me and you can't never go wrong with a Jacques set. Such a beauty!

These chess pieces are undoubtedly a high quality work of art.
It is obvious that they have been crafted with a lot of dedication, care and precision.
When you unpack the box you receive from them, you feel the even with the packaging every effort has been made to give these little marvels the care and protection they deserve. Very quick delivery by DHL.
The Alexandria chess pieces are truely beautiful but also majistic. Made of high quality material by professionals who perform with exceptional craftsmanship.
If you choose to buy this set, make sure to select a chessboard that is suitable not only to its size but to its style and elegance. 70mm to 75mm squares would be adequate, and choose square colors that give comfortable contrast and visibility. The ones sold for a reduced price because of some slight "imperfections" make me respect the makers even more for the value of their work and skills.
It's a challenge to find these imperfections. One or two pieces might have slight "imperfections", but generally speaking it is "Plus que parfait" as I would put it in french.
This is the third set of chess pieces I buy from Royal Chess Mall, and there are surely others to follow, waiting in my wishlist.

If there any small imperfections, I have thus far been unable to find them. This set is heirloom quality and one day it will go to a beloved family member. 100% satisfied. Outstanding quality and very prompt shipping. Items were packaged extremely well and arrived without any damage.

The first thing you notice about these pieces when you unwrap them is their big size.
Yes, 4.6" King is VERY big, really. You need a chessboard with 60mm squares, or even a bit bigger.
Then the design, you immediately feel a professional level achievement. Beautiful design and very careful workmanship.
This is a "slightly imperfect" chess set (pieces only). If you examine each piece carefully, you might find what could be called imperfection, if you had a strong sense of observation and a very critical mind, otherwise, trust me, nobody will notice anything if you don't tell them.
The knights' heads are very slightly tilted to the left. If you must call this imperfection.
Also, when you look at the king from the top, you may notice a very slight out of center inclination.
The only thing I didn't quite like about the design is the top of the Rook. I think it should better be a bit thicker.
I took some pictures in comparison with my favorite Reykjavik chess set I use daily to give some idea why such pieces are expensive.
Bishops and Rooks do not differ much than the standard Staunton design, but still very nicely done.
Pawn top sphere is a bit smaller than I would have expected, but acceptable.
The neck of each piece narrows nicely and not too much to make it fragile. All pieces look and feel very sturdy.
The weight and feel of these pieces is very pleasant indeed, and each piece is very carefully wrapped with sponge for protection during transport.
I have checked many sellers before buying from the Royal Chess Mall. I assure you, they are the best. Delivered within a week time by DHL.
I already purchased the Alexandria chess pieces too, before receiving this "Spartacus".

Ich habe für mein kleines Schachbrett (Feldgröße 40mm) passende Staunton-Figuren gesucht. Bei RoyalChessMall wurde ich fündig, für mich ein sehr schönes Figurenset (Königshöhe 2,8“). Lieferung war extrem schnell (5 Tage von Indien nach Deutschland).
Verpackung perfekt, jede Figur einzeln verpackt. Preis-Leistungsverhältnis für mich sehr angemessen.

This board matched our new chess set perfectly (4.6” Mogul Staunton Luxury). Some of the darker squares are inconsistent though. One in particular is very noticeably much darker. Gives it some character I guess but do wish it was a bit more consistent. Aside from that, we are happy with it.

This set is our first from RCM and we are quite happy with it. The kids love to play as well. It is quite a large set (see the size of the queen in my hand, adult male hand for reference). The workmanship is amazing with the level of detail, specially the knights. We hope to get many years of use from this set.
