These chess pieces are a fantastic reproduction of 1852-55 Harrwitz Staunton Chess Pieces. They have been reproduced using  actual antique pieces of this model , thus all the details are accurate to a tee.
The original Harrwitz series was made with a 3.5" King, thus justifying the size of its reproduction.
These chess pieces have wide, squatty bases and a low center of gravity, thus making them very stable and perform brilliantly on a chess board.

You can easily find more elaborate pieces with more attitude and more intricate embellishments. However, the quiet aesthetics of these pieces make them stand out as a testament to the perfection of the Staunton design. Pictures don’t do these pieces proper justice, you have to feel them to really appreciate them. I highly recommend these pieces. These pieces are also a delight to play with, designed with functionality in mind. On top of all this, RCM also offers an excellent support. You won’t regret this buy.
