Lessing Series (1927-37) are 17th and the last of recognized variants of staunton pattern chess pieces.

Our design is a precise reproduction of the last officially recognized design launched by Jacques of London. As with the originals, this set has been traditionally weighted using metal infused at the base of the chess pieces.

The set has been masterfully crafted in Genuine Ebony Wood and Antiqued Boxwood with skilled artisanal work done on the knights.
Completely untreated and non dyed Ebony has been used on the black army which been finished in semi- gloss look. If looked closely, buyers will be able to see a beautiful grain pattern in the ebony side of the set.ย 

The boxwood side of the army has also been lacquer finished in Antiqued Stain. This stain beautifully replicates the vintage patina of old chessmen. The overall finish of the set is semi- gloss which gives it a pleasing finish and nice to look and play with.

This design confirms well to the traditional staunton pattern with no sharp edges or delicate carvings. The sturdy design of the pieces make it a joy to hold and play with.

Stunning Lessing Staunton Pieces

Just received my Staunton Lessing chess set in Ebony and Antiqued lacquered Boxwood and itโ€™s worth every penny. All of the pieces are exquisitely carved and the polish is beautiful. They are also heavily weighted! Well worth the money. Exactly as reviewed on YouTube!! Highly recommended.
