Jeg kigger på jeres mange flotte skakbrætter og er optaget af, hvordan de er overfladebehandlede, hvordan de patinerer og hvilken form for vedligeholdelse I vil anbefale? Er træet fx tykt nok til at tåle en afpudsning med sandpapir, hvis det engang skulle komme til at se me

slidt ud og have mistet sin varme glød?

Jeg er specielt interesseret i brættet på 21" (tommer) med feltstørrelse 55 x 55 mm med felter af ibenholt og ahorn og en skråt skårer ramme omkring i rosentræ, så hvis I kan svare for det bræt vil det være super.

Spillefladen er behandlet med en beskyttende lak, som forsegler træet og fremhæver dets naturlige kontrast og varme glød. Med tiden vil brættet udvikle en let naturlig patina ved almindelig brug – særligt i ahornfelterne – samtidig med at det bevarer sit overordnede udtryk, hvis det vedligeholdes korrekt.

Til vedligeholdelse anbefaler vi at tørre brættet af med en blød, tør klud. Om nødvendigt kan en let fugtig klud anvendes, hvorefter overfladen straks tørres af. Brættet bør holdes væk fra direkte sollys, høj luftfugtighed og store temperatursvingninger.

Med hensyn til slibning: Felterne i ibenholt og ahorn er finérindlæg monteret på en stabil, konstrueret kerne. På grund af denne opbygning anbefaler vi ikke slibning af overfladen, da det kan beskadige finéren. Hvis overfladen med tiden skulle fremstå mat, anbefaler vi i stedet at anvende en egnet træpleje eller polish frem for sandpapir.
