The pieces have been finished in Red & White Lacquer much like the antique luxury sets in ivory that were finished in Red & ivory white.

The set paired with one of our minimalist Ebony wood boards makes for an excellent gift .

I'm really pleased with this set - it's everything I expected and more! The White pieces are ultra white and the shade of the red pieces beautifully mimics the reds of the mid 1800s Jaques of London sets. Also, the pieces are generously sized and have a deep, lustrous shine - they really grab your attention and won't let go. If you want to draw a crowd, this set will do it - magnetic! Royal Chess Mall has come through again and is now my favorite retailer of all things chess. For quality, low prices, secure packaging, and fast shipping time, you won't do better!
