Our Spartacus series chess pieces are named so after the famous gladiator who lead a history defining uprising against the Roman Republic. The complete army of chessmen have beautiful twin rings at their bases with symmetrical design profiling common from the sovereign to the pawn.

The knights are expressive and have a beautiful flowing mane depicting action on the chess-board.

The set is triple weighted with lead to increase the ballast and playability on the chess board. 

Each piece is lovingly hand carved and turned by our master carvers to create a heirloom quality masterpiece.

The most wonderful chess pieces I've ever bought

I received my chess pieces 1 week ago, until they arrived in Bogotá, Colombia
These chess pieces arrived in perfect condition without any mishap or damage. A wonderful work of carving by hand with the design and rosewood bud, make this chessmen a luxury. Without a doubt the most beautiful and wonderful chess pieces that I have ever acquired. Spartacus Chess Pieces

The Spartacus chess pieces in bud rosewood and boxwood is a work of art. The King stands tall at 4.6 inches with a unique design on the crown. I like it since it is different from all the chess pieces that I have in my collection. The other distinguishing design of the pieces is the twin rings in the bases of all the pieces.

The pieces arrived on the date promised, and was individually wrapped in a foam material so they were protected during shipment. The weight of the pieces is within range of what was declared in the site, and I was happy about that.

I got these pieces in the slightly imperfect pieces section. Understandably, there are some minor imperfections. Overall, however, I am happy with that since it is what it is. Another comment that I have is that the packing department people should always include a card when they ship the item This is my third purchase, and I never got a card.

In conclusion, I am pleased with the purchase, despite those minor defects and omissions. I certainly will purchase chess pieces again from Royal Chess Mall.
