3.5" Fierce Knight Staunton Chess Set- Chess Pieces Only - Weighted Golden Rosewood

The quality of the wood and carving is fantastic and went well with my board. Recommended square sizes from the creator were spot on!

Pieces came in today nicely wrapped. Very quality and just how they look in the advertisements. The only imperfection is the green padding in the bottom for 5-6 pieces was lose on some edges, coming off slightly. I used a hot glue gun to carefully glue them back to the piece and they are back as new. Overall satisfied and would recommend them. They are a pleasure the feel especially when delivering check mate!

I recently received this set of Chess Pieces. I am most impressed with the Quality, Craftsmanship, Size, Feel and Weight. The light Boxwood pieces have a hint of a grain, and are beautifully polished. The Dark Golden Rosewood have a distinct grain and are beautiful. They contrast perfectly with each other. These pieces definitely present themselves as a more costly set than the actual investment.

I purchased these to use with my DGT Centaur Computerized Chess Board. The Centaur comes with very nice plastic pieces but I am somewhat of a traditionalist so really prefer playing with sculpted wood Staunton Pieces.

I chose this set due to the positive reviews and the size of the King and base. It coincides with the square size of the board.

Modifying them to play on the Centaur is straight forward. Aquire Kenco Color Coding Circle Dot Sticker Labels on a roll (Silver FOIL, 1 INCH 1000 Stickers). They are available on Amazon. The size is perfect for the major pieces and must be modified for the Pawns. I used a small cuticle type scissors to acquire the proper size and then used the first one as a template to do the rest. They adhere perfectly to the felt on the base so there is no reason to remove it and they are easy to remove if the owner ever decided to revert them back to their original form. The aluminum foil stickers are very thin so add no bulk to the base.

I have no reservation recommending this set. My only recommendation would be to make the set available with a good quality wooden storage box, either lined with felt and divided for light and dark pieces or a box with individual compartments for the pieces. This would be an add on option.

Very impressed with quality. Had to wait for a while, but it worth it. Here are pictures with my 2 inch squares board.

Wonderful pieces. Exactly as I had hoped. First rate!

The pieces arrived and look great! Each piece was individually wrapped and shipped with just as much care. The weight is perfect. Not too heavy or light. I would highly recommend!

The 3.5” - Fierce Knight Staunton Chess pieces are a very welcome addition to my ‘ chess family ’ of chess sets. They were just what I wanted, refreshingly, reflecting the colour and tone of the Royal Chess Mall’s web site photo. The pieces are beautifully crafted, and the customer service was exceptional from the very beginning, with the generous assistance, to the final delivery. Thank you Royal Chess Mall !

Excellent set of Chess Pieces

The prizes look great and they came very fast. The size of 4.5" of escaque suits him very well.

The chess pieces arrived MUCH faster than I'd expected (India to New Jersey). They were as pictured and well protected in foam wrapping.

Arrived on time, as described and intact. This is a beautiful set.

We are happy with these chess pieces. Traditional shapes and decent weight, with special size-weight-detail of the knights. We like the variation in the color & wood grain pattern of all the pieces, definitely not a cookie cutter set. There are minor dings but acceptable amount for wooden pcs. Purchase 10/16 and rec'd 10/25. Packed w care, very secure and protected. The felt on bottom is thick enough to protect but cut a bit jagged. My personal favorite piece is the rook - nice shape and feel. We played 2 games with these pcs already, and nothing stood out as negative. The knight may be a bit large & heavy compared to the other pcs, but a fun and unique piece. The base size of all pcs is generous - not tippy at all. Used on board w 2" squares - would not recommend for smaller squares but could go larger. If we had seen this set in person, we would have bought it. The price is not unreasonable for 34 nice quality weighted wooden pieces.

Beautiful pieces. I love them, down to the last detail. I considered ordering lesser pieces, but I'm very glad I went for these. Other reviews said these were shipped slowly, but mine were not. They came all the way from India to my home in California within a week.

Nice sized and weighted pieces

Very pleased with this set. I would recommend and reorder again!

Quality wood and markings.

Excellent craftsmanship and attention to detail. Packaging was painstakingly prepared to ensure the pieces arrived unscathed - each soldier individually wrapped. My play doesn't warrant such fabulous warriors.

Details could have been better, but it a nice set anyway.

Beautiful chess set. The pieces are beautiful creations that feel good in your hand. Weighted and balanced, I gave these as a gift and the recipient loved them.

Good stuff

Very well made pieces, very impressed with the company as a whole.
