Renowned for his brilliant attacking style, Anderssen left an indelible mark on chess history, famously playing "The Immortal Game" and "The Evergreen Game."
This set is inspired by the Staunton design standards of the 1850s and 1860s, featuring the legendary "Drop Jaw" knight with its striking open-mouthed carving. The rook in this design has been made particularly prominent, standing taller than the knight, to emphasize its strategic strength in the game. This design choice mirrors the original set, where the rooks symbolized their greater value and influence, while the knights were proportionally smaller in stature.
