The first thing you notice about these pieces when you unwrap them is their big size.
Yes, 4.6" King is VERY big, really. You need a chessboard with 60mm squares, or even a bit bigger.
Then the design, you immediately feel a professional level achievement. Beautiful design and very careful workmanship.
This is a "slightly imperfect" chess set (pieces only). If you examine each piece carefully, you might find what could be called imperfection, if you had a strong sense of observation and a very critical mind, otherwise, trust me, nobody will notice anything if you don't tell them.
The knights' heads are very slightly tilted to the left. If you must call this imperfection.
Also, when you look at the king from the top, you may notice a very slight out of center inclination.
The only thing I didn't quite like about the design is the top of the Rook. I think it should better be a bit thicker.
I took some pictures in comparison with my favorite Reykjavik chess set I use daily to give some idea why such pieces are expensive.
Bishops and Rooks do not differ much than the standard Staunton design, but still very nicely done.
Pawn top sphere is a bit smaller than I would have expected, but acceptable.
The neck of each piece narrows nicely and not too much to make it fragile. All pieces look and feel very sturdy.
The weight and feel of these pieces is very pleasant indeed, and each piece is very carefully wrapped with sponge for protection during transport.
I have checked many sellers before buying from the Royal Chess Mall. I assure you, they are the best. Delivered within a week time by DHL.
I already purchased the Alexandria chess pieces too, before receiving this "Spartacus".

Ich habe für mein kleines Schachbrett (Feldgröße 40mm) passende Staunton-Figuren gesucht. Bei RoyalChessMall wurde ich fündig, für mich ein sehr schönes Figurenset (Königshöhe 2,8“). Lieferung war extrem schnell (5 Tage von Indien nach Deutschland).
Verpackung perfekt, jede Figur einzeln verpackt. Preis-Leistungsverhältnis für mich sehr angemessen.

This board matched our new chess set perfectly (4.6” Mogul Staunton Luxury). Some of the darker squares are inconsistent though. One in particular is very noticeably much darker. Gives it some character I guess but do wish it was a bit more consistent. Aside from that, we are happy with it.
This set is our first from RCM and we are quite happy with it. The kids love to play as well. It is quite a large set (see the size of the queen in my hand, adult male hand for reference). The workmanship is amazing with the level of detail, specially the knights. We hope to get many years of use from this set.
My first Dubrovnik set and definitely a cool one for sure! Highly recommend
Sorry but those pieces are way to big for the chessnut air. The height might be fines but the bases are not (kings and queens are larger than the actual chess board square).
Be careful before ordering...
ALERT! Royal Chess Mall chess boards are just as wonderful as the chessmen they sell! I just received this 21 inch Golden Rosewood board complete with letter and number notation. Beautiful. 👍
Solid construction with felt back and a smooth gorgeous finish. Nothing not to love. Highly recommend.
The delivery arrived one day before initial estimated time.
The pieces look beautiful, the pictures do not do it justice.
Due to the interesting patterns on the pieces it's easy to spot against the black squares as well.
The board is of a good quality, looks good, but it is quite glossy(see reflections in the image)so make an informed choice.
The storage box looks beautiful but as the images suggest, but it will require you to keep the pieces in a horizontal position, but it does fit all the pieces as shown in the image.
Note: Regarding the storage box, only the bottom of the box has felt unfortunately so be careful while storing the boxes since too much movement might chip the pieces against the side of the box, be careful and you should be fine.
Note to Royal chess Mall: Seriously would prefer to have felt on the sides and the top section of the storage, an unfortunate negative mark on an otherwise perfect set.

Lovely black and gold marbling dark squares with slightly sparkling white squares, yet the overall tone is slightly muted, giving support to your chess pieces rather than overwhelming them. Excellent choice for my pieces. And the packing for this board was superb!

The board is perfect for the 3.9 inch Lessing Staunton pieces. The colours and scale aid visualisation and calculation of online play.

These chess pieces are simply beautiful! The triple weighting also makes them stable and the feel nice in the hand.
I use them while playing on lichess.org to visualise over the board play. I find it helps my concentration for calculation to focus on the standardized pieces, board, and colours. In my first game I beat Stockfish 6.

This chess set is amazing. I built a custom curly maple and figured Claro walnut chess board with 2.25 inch squares. This chess set looks stunning with this size board and compliments the board. I spent a good deal on $ on the wood to make the chess board and wanted pieces to match the quality. I got exactly what I wanted and more. The price was cheaper than many sets of far inferior build. If you are thinking about getting this set, do it right away!
