Un tablero realmente precioso, perfecto para juegos de biblioteca o juegos «king» de 3" —los tengo con el juego de Ayres, y el tablero es una obra de arte—.
Lo compré sobre todo porque estaba harto de montar y guardar el tablero de ajedrez cada vez que quería jugar. Tener una mesa específica para ello ha supuesto una diferencia mayor de lo que esperaba. La altura me resulta cómoda y los cajones son muy prácticos para guardar las piezas fuera de la vista cuando no las uso.
Las piezas tienen un buen peso y la mesa da la sensación de ser lo suficientemente sólida como para que no me preocupe que se tambalee durante las partidas. Además, queda bien en la habitación sin resultar excesivamente decorativa. La he estado usando varias veces a la semana desde que llegó y estoy contento con la compra.
Las piezas están magníficamente elaboradas, y la combinación de palisandro dorado y boj queda muy bien en este juego. Su peso hace que sea muy agradable jugar con él. ¡Un juego de ajedrez muy recomendable en todos los sentidos!
Un tablero precioso que queda muy bien tanto con piezas blancas y negras, como se ve en la foto, como con piezas antiguas. La superficie tiene un acabado mate brillante que permite que las piezas se deslicen con suavidad. Llegó rápidamente en un embalaje a prueba de golpes. Recomendado.

Está fabricada como un mueble, pero se juega como en una mesa de torneo de verdad. La mesa resulta robusta y cómoda para partidas largas, y los cajones son realmente útiles para guardar las piezas de forma ordenada. ¡En definitiva, una buena compra!

This is my second set from Royal Chess Mall, and both have shown excellent craftsmanship and value compared to other merchants. I will continue to shop from RCM when looking for wooden pieces.
I think this set actually looks amazing on my standard green and white roll up tournament board! It is my preferred set to travel with if I am playing slower time controls. With the knights lacking protruding ears or manes and and the kings having rounded finials, the set is robust enough to travel with if I don't except really rough play (I'd still take a plastic set for blitz play). YT chess reviewer Al Su feels the same way.
I did have a pawn crack sometime in the first few weeks, but RCM stood by their warranty and rapidly replied to my email. It did take a few weeks for the piece to ship so I suppose the piece had to be manufactured, but I am happily playing with a complete now.

A nice decorative piece to the family room
I’m really happy with 1950s Fischer Dubrovnik set. The pieces look great on the board and have a nice feel in hand. Every piece was individually wrapped and the delivery was fast. Overall a very good experience.
After seeing the great serie “The Queens Gambit” I knew a had to have this set in the best possible quality.

I'm very pleased with this chess set. It lives on display in our lounge and looks stunning. The craftsmanship is exceptional, the fine carving on the knights a particular highlight, and the extra details on the pieces add style without detracting from play. The ebony is beautiful and the finish is superb. It's a good size and the weighted pieces are a delight to handle. I got it with 25% off, which made it incredible value, but it would certainly be worth the full price. The fast, free shipping and responsive customer service also made everything easy and kept the cost down. Very much recommended.
I bought this storage box mainly for my tournament sets, including a 4.1" Pro Staunton and a 3.9" German Knight set, and I was honestly surprised by how well it fits them. Even though the box is advertised for chess pieces up to 3.7" king height, both of my larger sets fit perfectly without any issues. For reference, my 3.9" German Knight king has a 1.4" base and my 4.1" Pro Staunton king has a much wider 1.9" base, and the box still accommodates both comfortably with no pressure when closing the lid. Even with the extra promotion queens included, there’s still enough space to store everything neatly.
The interior is lined with a soft green felt that does a great job protecting the pieces, especially the ebonised black ones which can be prone to marks. The divider inside is also really practical, keeping the white and black pieces separated and making setup quicker.
One thing that really stands out is how solid the box feels. The outer shell is very rigid and hard, giving it a strong, durable feel that inspires confidence when storing or moving your pieces. It doesn’t feel flimsy at all, and it holds its shape well even when filled with heavier, weighted chessmen.
Overall, this is a very practical and reliable storage solution. It exceeded my expectations in terms of capacity and build quality, especially given that it handled larger tournament sets with ease. If you’re worried about fitting bigger pieces, this box should still work just fine.

Les pièces sont arrivées en France en seulement 6 jours: bravo! Elles sont exactement comme sur les photos, donc superbes. Je les ai installées sur le plateau commandé en même temps (Échiquier de luxe en bois d'ébène et d'érable de 21 pouces, magnifique également), c'est juste parfait. Après avoir hésité très longtemps à cause de la distance et parce que je ne savais pas si ce vendeur était sérieux, je me suis fié aux avis (sur Trustpilot notamment) et je ne regrette pas. Je renouvellerai l'expérience prochainement ;-)

I bought this storage box for my Mogul Staunton Luxury set from Royal Chess Mall. Before purchasing, I asked their customer service to help check the fit, and they were kind enough to do a trial fit for me. RCM customer service are the best. This is a large set, with a king height of 4.6 inches (118mm) and a 1.9 inch (49mm) base diameter, so I was concerned about space but it fits perfectly.
There is enough room for all the pieces without forcing anything in, and they sit securely without rattling. Even with the larger bases, everything feels well protected and organized. See the first three photos for the Mogul set.
What impressed me most is the capacity. The box can also hold two full tournament sized sets with German knight style pieces. Each set has a king height of 3.9 inches (98mm) and a base diameter of 1.4 inches (36mm). The last photo shows two full sets including all extra queens, and each half of the box fits one full set with all light and dark pieces.
The felt lining on the base protects the pieces well, and the divider keeps everything organized. The golden rosewood looks great in person, and the sliding lid is smooth and closes securely thanks to the magnetic closure.
One small improvement is that the inner side walls are not felt lined. It would be better if the entire interior was fully lined for added protection, especially for higher end pieces.
If you are looking for a budget friendly and compact storage solution, this box does the job very well. For those who prefer a more premium or luxury style storage, there are other options available, but this covers the essentials perfectly.
Overall, this is a solid and well built storage box. It works great for large sets around 4.5 to 4.6 inches king height, and even for multiple standard sets. Highly recommended.
