Old-world character, tournament-grade feel. These 4.1" Pro Staunton pieces are hand-turned from solid boxwood, then given a hand-distressed antique finish that looks like it's seen a century of play — without a single scratch on performance. Each piece is weighted and felted for that satisfying, deliberate placement serious players know. The mahogany-stained dark pieces and warm lacquered boxwood lights carry a depth of grain no plastic set can fake.
A 4.1" king strikes the sweet spot: substantial in the hand, comfortable on a 55–60mm square board.
Heirloom looks. Battle-ready weight. Built to be played, not just displayed.

Excellent aged lacquered boxwood; the stained pieces more closely resemble the tone of the exotic wood: Purpleheart, highly prized for its natural purple color, which is found only in the heart of the American continent and is highly sought after by collectors. A very comfortable and ergonomic set.
