My Wife purchased this particular board as part of a set which was given as a gift to me.

She had chosen this board to contrast the ebonized Zadar Chess pieces that I had wanted.

The quality and craftsmanship of this board is amazing, and it does match perfectly with my Zadar chess pieces.

The packaging that my board arrived in was equally impressive in it's own right. The board was hand wrapped in high quality paper, then heavy duty plastic which was also hand cut and sealed. This was then packed into a perfectly fitted box with high quality, dense foam inserts. The box itself was protected by a mesh membrane that offered external protection from shipping damage and weather.

I could go on about the board in great detail, but I assure you that it is as advertised in the pictures and description, and much more.

I highly recommend this beautiful work of art.

I bought this set at a good discount, but fully expecting some glaring flaws in some pieces.
This set is beautifully made; well crafted and solid, with the heftiness to ensure it sits firmly and well planted on the board. Very pleasant to touch and move.
As to the flaws, I am sorry (?) to say that I cannot, with my naked eyes, find any. Perhaps there are, and I am not trained to spot them. But I suppose it is then a blessing in disguise

High Quality Chess Set. Looks great in my room.

Very happy with this set, all of the pieces are substantially sized and well weighted. The hollow head on the king is attractive and fitting. The bishops are the star of this set, the design harkens back to sets from the 18th and 19th century. I am glad I got this one before they are gone.

Played a slow chess game with my best friend at a café and honestly, this set just fit the vibe. Coffee, calm music, good ambience, and chess on the table.
The board feels solid and the magnets are strong, so the pieces don’t move around even when someone bumps the table (My friend she's a mess😂). That really helps when you’re playing outside or in a café. Best part? I just dropped it into my tote bag and walked out smiling like wow this actually fits, it didn’t feel bulky or annoying to carry.
After the game, everything goes back inside quickly and that’s it. Been using it often and it still feels great. More like a lifestyle chess set than a typical one.

This is much more than just a travel chess set. It’s big and solid, and that’s exactly why I like it. I usually play indoors, but this set made me carry it to my nearby garden and enjoy slow games with friends in the evening breeze. The board stays stable, the pieces don’t tip over even on a stone bench, and packing everything back into the drawers is simple. It feels less like a game and more like a small ritual.

I am very impressed with the level of detail and craftsmanship of this set. They have a nice weight to them and are flawless. The set comes with an extra queen as well. I definitely recommend to anyone looking for elegance in a chess piece set.

A beautiful set, worth the price; well actually, this is one of the most affordable Dubrovniks, thanks to Royal Chess Mall. This is a robust set, very nice in an actual game.
Now for the nit-picking. Only a couple of very minor things. First, i think the original Dubrovnik has Rooks with only 5 merlons, representing the 5 regions or provinces in former Yugoslavia (...could be wrong with geography here) ... however, this reproduction has 6 merlons on the Rooks. And last, the lines on the Knight's face are cut a bit deep, i think, also the edges are quite sharp; these could be softened a bit.
But overall, this is a great set!

Boxwood is wonderful (antiqued box chess pieces )

I was a little unsure when ordering something like this online, but I’m genuinely impressed. The wood finish looks even better in person and the board itself feels solid and well balanced. I mainly use it in the backyard or study, and it’s become a real conversation piece. Definitely not something you see every day.

Very nice pieces. Overall very good for an "imperfect" set. Some of the ebony pieces were somewhat unfinished, ie matted or different detail to white pieces, or slanted. That said, another imperfect set i bought was perfect, so maybe a bit hit and miss.

Received my chess set in record time, and the pieces are even heavier than advertised. The king weighs about 78 grams, the queen 71 grams, the rook 50 grams, and the knight around 60 grams. The quality is amazing—these pieces are a joy to play with and truly impressive to admire. The craftsmanship really shows.

I had only one small issue: one of the rooks wasn’t stained very well. I emailed customer service, and they responded promptly, checked the issue, and let me know they were sending me a replacement rook right away. Excellent service.

This is the second chess set I’ve purchased from them, and I have no regrets. They take their work seriously and it shows. Highly recommended.

The whole set is incredible, not only for its craftsmanship and quality, but also for its aesthetics and proportions. Just look at the knights! I might disagree a little with calling it a "travel set," as it's more like a new chess set for a new home. Anyway, I loved it
