Bauhaus Schaakstukken zijn een getrouwe reproductie van het originele ontwerp van Bauhaus beeldhouwer Josef Hartwig. Het ontwerp verandert de stukken in geometrische symbolen op basis van hun functies.
De gedachte achter dit ontwerp was dat de vormen en symbolen van kubussen, cilinders en ballen je zet voor zet naar schaakmat moeten leiden.
Het originele Bauhaus ontwerp werd verkocht in twee versies, een "dagelijks gebruik" versie en een handgemaakte "luxe" versie. Ons ontwerp is een reproductie van de handgemaakte luxe versie.
Ook inbegrepen is Roll Up Chessboard gemaakt van massieve blokken van Ebony & Maple Wood.
Dit schaakbord is fijn gepolijst in matte afwerking.

I'll start by saying that the chess board and pieces is pricey. So if you are a casual player you may want to go elsewhere for your chessboard. However, if you are looking for something unique that will spark a conversation based on the design, you've come to the right place. I'm 100% satisfied with the chess pieces and board. I'll have to find a nice box to store this but the pieces and board are 5-star quality. The only thing I would change is having a carrying case. Yes, I have to make my own but having a carry case would seal the deal for me. Still a 5-star product.
