My brown pieces actually look more golden, even a little on the brass side. Perhaps this is a trick of lighting? But I absolutely adore them! They’re very simple slender excellently waited, feel fantastic in the hands, and the austerity just excites me! The horse is very regal and powerful - it has overtones of a lion. Love it.
Admittedly, this is my first "nice" chess set, so I may be biased, but I am floored by the quality of product I received. While the shade of the light pieces was slightly different than what I expected--there are highlights and swirls of bronze that don't quite make it through in the display photographs--I'm not bothered by it at all. In fact, I think I like them more than I initially anticipated! The carving is perfect, every detail immaculate, and the finish is smooth and flawless. Every piece arrived in mint condition.

Ik woon in het Verenigd Koninkrijk en heb al vier keer iets gekocht bij Royal Chess Mall. Elke keer verliep alles vlekkeloos. Een probleem met één bestelling werd meteen opgelost (bedankt, Manwinder). Ik zou ze zonder twijfel aanbevelen en weer gebruiken. Over het algemeen bieden ze een uitstekende service en waar voor je geld, met een interessant assortiment. De Botvinnik Flohr II-stukken zijn mooi en goed gemaakt voor hun prijs.
Really, really excellent. The only thing is that perhaps the two colors of the pieces lack suficient distinctivity. But I really love them.
A very nice set. Well executed and finished. A lighter hand on the application of the "distress" finish to the White pieces would make this a masterpiece.
