1935 Botvinnik Flohr-II Sovjet Schaakstukken in 4,4" koningsgrootte zijn een nauwkeurige reproductie van de alom populaire BF-II serie schaakstukken die beroemd werd omdat het een van de favoriete sets van Mikhail Botvinnik was. Botvinnik Flohr series zijn erg populair onder schaakverzamelaars en -liefhebbers. Er waren 2 variaties die voorkwamen in de Sovjet schaaktoernooien van de jaren 1930. Het BF-II ontwerp was zo populair dat het vaak het belangrijkste ontwerp uit de Sovjettijd wordt genoemd en een zeer gewaardeerd ontwerp voor schaakverzamelaars. Deze schaakstukken hebben een kenmerkend ontwerpprofiel dat typisch is voor Sovjet schaakstukken. Ze hebben een brede basis met zeer slanke schachten, wat zorgt voor een aparte maar elegante uitstraling.
De schaakstukken spelen goed op het schaakbord met gewicht toegevoegd aan de basis om de stabiliteit te verhogen.

Admittedly, this is my first "nice" chess set, so I may be biased, but I am floored by the quality of product I received. While the shade of the light pieces was slightly different than what I expected--there are highlights and swirls of bronze that don't quite make it through in the display photographs--I'm not bothered by it at all. In fact, I think I like them more than I initially anticipated! The carving is perfect, every detail immaculate, and the finish is smooth and flawless. Every piece arrived in mint condition.
I highly recommend Royal Chess Mall to anyone interested in perfect chess pieces, and I will absolutely return when I'm ready for my next "nice" set.

General review of RCM..
I live in the UK; I have bought from Royal Chess Mall on four separate occasions and each time has gone smoothly. A problem with one order was rectified immediately (thank you Manwinder) and I would not hesitate to recommend them or use them again. Really, really excellent. The only thing is that perhaps the two colors of the pieces lack suficient distinctivity. But I really love them.

A Fine Reproduction
A very nice set. Well executed and finished. A lighter hand on the application of the "distress" finish to the White pieces would make this a masterpiece.
