Die Lessing-Serie (1927–37) ist die 17. und letzte anerkannte Variante der Schachfiguren im Staunton-Stil.

Unser Design ist eine exakte Nachbildung des letzten offiziell anerkannten Designs, das von Jacques of London auf den Markt gebracht wurde. Wie die Originale wurde auch dieses Set traditionell mit Metallgewichten an der Unterseite der Schachfiguren beschwert.
Das Set wurde meisterhaft aus Ebenholz und antikisiertem Buchsbaumholz gefertigt, wobei die Springer mit handwerklichem Geschick bearbeitet wurden.
Für die schwarze Armee wurde gefärbtes Ebenholz verwendet, das mit einer seidenmatten Oberfläche versehen wurde. Bei genauer Betrachtung können Käufer eine schöne Maserung auf der Ebenholzseite des Sets erkennen.
Die Buchsbaumseite der Figuren wurde ebenfalls mit Antikbeize lackiert. Diese Beize imitiert auf wunderschöne Weise die Vintage-Patina alter Schachfiguren. Die gesamte Oberfläche des Sets ist seidenmatt, was ihm ein ansprechendes Finish verleiht und es angenehm anzusehen und zu spielen macht.
Dieses Design entspricht dem traditionellen Staunton-Muster ohne scharfe Kanten oder filigrane Schnitzereien. Das robuste Design der Figuren macht es zu einer Freude, sie in der Hand zu halten und mit ihnen zu spielen.
