Repro 2016 Sinquefield Staunton Schachspiel - Nur Schachfiguren - Ebenholz - Dreifach Gewicht

This classy set has all the traditional Staunton hallmarks, the bishops in particular being reminiscent of some 19th century Staunton designs. The ornate knights are what make the set so distinctive, with their artistic carvings and flamboyant manes. That said, their playability isn't affected; they are both comfortable to hold and move easily on the board.
If you're looking for a contemporary Staunton set that's a little bit different, this could be the one.
Thanks to RCM's excellent customer service, the pieces arrived quickly, safely wrapped and packaged in a virtually indestructible box.

Five stars for the chess pieces, they are spectacular, but one star less due to the measures in the sheet on the description being very approximate. In particular the king measures 43 mm (not 42) at the base, the bishop's base is about 37 mm (not 39), etc. Also the overall weight is about 100 grams less than declared in the data sheet (with the black pieces, in ebony, which generally have slightly smaller dimensions than the white ones, but overall weigh about ninety grams more). It is therefore a very expensive chess set, but it is worth it, except for the inaccuracy in the measurements (already noted in two other sets previously purchased). Reasonably fast shipping to Italy. Also included (surprisingly) was a soft pouch. Well done Royal Chess Mall!
