I paired the 3.9 inch Professional bud rosewood Staunton set with the bud rosewood 21 inch board with 55mm squares. They make a beautiful pairing, and are a pleasure to look at, and to play a game with. The pieces are expertly carved out of rosewood. The workmanship of the board and pieces is superb. The pieces are also perfectly weighted and balanced, and are FIDE approved in size, as is the 55mm square-size board. The pieces feel great, top quality, and glide smoothly on this beautiful board.
Theyโre beautiful.. love the Bud Rosewoodโฆ there are some cracks in some Pawns and Queens, slight separation of the knight , from the baseโฆ but , very nice, indeed.
Quality of the chess set is great. I especially like the Twisted Mane Knight Design. Gives the set a special character.
My Wife purchased this particular board as part of a set which was given as a gift to me.
She had chosen this board to contrast the ebonized Zadar Chess pieces that I had wanted.
The quality and craftsmanship of this board is amazing, and it does match perfectly with my Zadar chess pieces.
The packaging that my board arrived in was equally impressive in it's own right. The board was hand wrapped in high quality paper, then heavy duty plastic which was also hand cut and sealed. This was then packed into a perfectly fitted box with high quality, dense foam inserts. The box itself was protected by a mesh membrane that offered external protection from shipping damage and weather.
I could go on about the board in great detail, but I assure you that it is as advertised in the pictures and description, and much more.
I highly recommend this beautiful work of art.
I bought this set at a good discount, but fully expecting some glaring flaws in some pieces.
This set is beautifully made; well crafted and solid, with the heftiness to ensure it sits firmly and well planted on the board. Very pleasant to touch and move.
As to the flaws, I am sorry (?) to say that I cannot, with my naked eyes, find any. Perhaps there are, and I am not trained to spot them. But I suppose it is then a blessing in disguise

Very happy with this set, all of the pieces are substantially sized and well weighted. The hollow head on the king is attractive and fitting. The bishops are the star of this set, the design harkens back to sets from the 18th and 19th century. I am glad I got this one before they are gone.

Played a slow chess game with my best friend at a cafรฉ and honestly, this set just fit the vibe. Coffee, calm music, good ambience, and chess on the table.
The board feels solid and the magnets are strong, so the pieces donโt move around even when someone bumps the table (My friend she's a mess๐). That really helps when youโre playing outside or in a cafรฉ. Best part? I just dropped it into my tote bag and walked out smiling like wow this actually fits, it didnโt feel bulky or annoying to carry.

This is much more than just a travel chess set. Itโs big and solid, and thatโs exactly why I like it. I usually play indoors, but this set made me carry it to my nearby garden and enjoy slow games with friends in the evening breeze. The board stays stable, the pieces donโt tip over even on a stone bench, and packing everything back into the drawers is simple. It feels less like a game and more like a small ritual.

A beautiful set, worth the price; well actually, this is one of the most affordable Dubrovniks, thanks to Royal Chess Mall. This is a robust set, very nice in an actual game.
Now for the nit-picking. Only a couple of very minor things. First, i think the original Dubrovnik has Rooks with only 5 merlons, representing the 5 regions or provinces in former Yugoslavia (...could be wrong with geography here) ... however, this reproduction has 6 merlons on the Rooks. And last, the lines on the Knight's face are cut a bit deep, i think, also the edges are quite sharp; these could be softened a bit.
But overall, this is a great set!

I was a little unsure when ordering something like this online, but Iโm genuinely impressed. The wood finish looks even better in person and the board itself feels solid and well balanced. I mainly use it in the backyard or study, and itโs become a real conversation piece. Definitely not something you see every day.
