I'm very glad I bought this set. It's so beautiful - even my grumpy teenage son said "that's a really nice chess set" when he saw it. The design is clean and modern (much nicer than a Staunton) and the pieces are large and well made (the only workmanship issue is slight asymmetries in the knights' tiny heads, but this is barely noticeable). The set feels really nice in the hand, particularly the pawns which have a nice bottom-heavy swing when you move them. It's so pretty that it's now on permanent display on my kitchen peninsula, where everyone can see it.
The size is nice - the pieces are tall (nearly 10cm kings) and the board is thick, broad and quite heavy. The workmanship on the board also seems good. The squares don't have frame around them, so I thought the board might have a bit of flex and was worried about its durability, but it feels good and sturdy and it has a high finish - I can only feel a very faint join between a few of the squares (otherwise the edges are perfectly smooth).
Overall, I love it. It's nice to play with, seems well built and is very, very pretty. 5/5
Sono molto soddisfatto del set di scacchi che ho ricevuto da Royal Chess Mall. La scacchiera è bellissima, così come i pezzi. Non è assolutamente perfetta - e non mi aspettavo che lo fosse, dato che è realizzata a mano con vero legno. Quindi, se si esamina a fondo la scacchiera e ogni pezzo, si possono trovare quelli che si possono definire piccoli difetti, piccoli nodi nel legno, o forse uno o due pezzi che hanno una tonalità leggermente diversa dagli altri, ma nulla che possa sminuire il piacere complessivo di ammirare e utilizzare il set. E penso che il prezzo sia molto equo per quello che si ottiene, con lo sconto del 20% che sono riuscito a ottenere (basta scrivere a loro e chiedere). Anche la spedizione è gratuita. Quindi, tutto sommato, lo consiglio vivamente. Sono già tentata di acquistare un secondo set di un design diverso, anche se non ne ho assolutamente bisogno e non ho lo spazio necessario! Forse come regalo di compleanno per il mio figlioccio...

Sono assolutamente entusiasta di questo set di scacchi che ho richiesto come regalo di Natale. La qualità del set e della scacchiera è fantastica e anche l'imballaggio era di alto livello. Raccomando vivamente questo venditore. Il set occupa un posto d'onore nel mio salotto. È un bellissimo pezzo d'arte moderna e il mio gioco preferito.
