Leuchars Set is genoemd naar William Leuchars, een detailhandelaar die in 1849 de eerste Jaques-sets verkocht vanuit zijn chique winkel in Picadilly. Leuchars ridders worden gekenmerkt door een effen versie van de kok ridder. Dit ontwerp was zeer zeldzaam en werd in weinig door Leuchars verkochte sets verkocht. Sets van dit ontwerp werden verkocht in Ivory combinaties en in boxwood & ebony.

De set is speciaal ontworpen voor schaakverzamelaars en de schaakstukken zijn met zorg vervaardigd. Elk stuk is met uiterste precisie vervaardigd zodat de schaakset in alle aspecten perfect is.

De stukken zijn Antiqued om het effect van patina op vintage schaakstukken te geven en zal de trotse eigenaars terug in de tijd naar 1849 brengen.
Deze schaakstukken zijn een perfecte samensmelting van vorm en functie en hun elegante esthetiek wordt op geen enkele wijze aangetast door hun praktisch nut.

De styling van elk van de Leuchars Cook Chess stukken volgt een bepaalde gedefinieerde grammatica. De Koning wordt vertegenwoordigd door zijn kroon, de Koningin door haar kroon. De Bisschoppen dragen kenmerkende mijters met diepe spleten. De Ridders - algemeen beschouwd als de pronkstukken onder alle Schakers - hebben uitlopende neusgaten en hoog gekroonde manen. De kastelen zien er solide uit, zoals het hoort, met breed gekartelde kantelen, terwijl de pionnen worden bekroond door een gewone bal.

Ze zijn zeer geliefd bij schakers, verzamelaars en hobbyisten vanwege hun aparte uiterlijk, hun stevige en solide gevoel, hun stabiliteit die voortkomt uit hun brede en verzwaarde voetstukken, en uit de met vilt beklede bodems van hun voetstukken, die de illusie wekken dat ze op het schaakbord zweven.

Uitstekende stukken Leuchars cook 1849-50

Estás piezas son únicas! , te hacen pensar en Morphy, Andersen, Staunton , La Pentier , etc . Son piezas que te invitan a tocarlas , el ébano frío , negro como la noche y con ese look brillante. El Boj envejecido , no es verdaderamente un look envejecido, más bien, es un look ámbar o amarillento, es muy particular y tiene su encanto en sí mismo, pero , no es exactamente un boj envejecido/oxidado, esto hay que tomarlo en cuenta , a mí me han gustado mucho, pero podría entender que para algunos fuese "demasiado" . El detalle del diseño es único , las bases son muy anchas , las piezas si bien son robustas a la vez son elegantes , el rey impone , los caballos son evidentemente los chicos malos de todo el conjunto, los peones son muy particulares, si bien simples , la base ancha les da un look único de sofisticación o singularidad. Tuve un pequeño problema con el Rey blanco el cual me vino manchado de rojo , y Royalchess en muy poco tiempo me repusieron la pieza , la calidad de atención es impecable muy diferente a otras páginas. En resumen unas verdaderas joyas si te gustan las piezas clásicas con un toque particular.

Las piezas de boj envejecido doradas simulan 70 años de antigüedad, piezas de ébano impecables y totalmente sobrias, diseño fiel Nath cooke para coleccionismo contemporáneo , set hermoso! Aunque recibí la base de la dama quebrada sé que sin problemas me será reemplazada en este mi doceavo set

This set of Chessmen is for Collectors. The King standing a true 4.5 inches tall towers over his subjects like the tallest skyscraper in a City Skyline. Every piece is handcrafted with care and great attention to detail - especially the knights. The Luechars knight is slightly different than the Cooke knight and these are done perfectly.
The deepest cut Bishops I have ever seen and the mighty Rooks - all the pieces look good and look good together. Very happy to own this collection and when they are not involved in a serious battle they will be on display in my Living Room.
