John Calvert was een van de meest prominente schaaksnijders in Engeland in het Pre-Staunton tijdperk. (Circa 18e eeuw)

Onze Calvert Schaakstukken zijn een nauwkeurige reproductie van een van de iconische ontwerpen van John Calvert.

De kwaliteit van het vakmanschap op deze schaakstukken is vrij uitzonderlijk, iets wat alleen een deskundige snijder met jarenlange ervaring kan bereiken.

A design that surpasses all other examples of St. John Pre-Staunton Calvert that I have seen online. An amazing modern interpretation, where the boxwood and ebony are incredibly fitting. I tested the ebony, it's real. Price for quality and value needs no comment.

There is a certain kind of charm about Pre Staunton pieces, they are just delightful to see and play with. They are historic, you are playing with pieces that were used before around the time of 1850, so it is like you go back in time!!
