Bauhaus Chessmen are a faithful reproduction of the original design by Bauhaus sculptor Josef Hartwig. The design transforms chess pieces into geometric symbols based on their functions.
The thought behind this design was that the shapes and symbols of cubes, cylinders, and balls should lead you to move by move to checkmate.
The original Bauhaus design was sold in two versions, a "daily use" version and a hand-made "luxury" version. Our design is a reproduction of the Handmade Luxury Version. Also included is Roll Up Chessboard made up of solid blocks of Ebony and maple Wood. This chess board has been finely polished in Matt finish.

Its a great chess set. The delivery was quick and the wrapping was A1. Thank you!
Beautiful set, well protected and packaged. When unpacking I could not find a pawn and they sent it same day no questions asked. Terrific set and service from RoyalChessMall
I'll start by saying that the chess board and pieces is pricey. So if you are a casual player you may want to go elsewhere for your chessboard. However, if you are looking for something unique that will spark a conversation based on the design, you've come to the right place. I'm 100% satisfied with the chess pieces and board. I'll have to find a nice box to store this but the pieces and board are 5-star quality. The only thing I would change is having a carrying case. Yes, I have to make my own but having a carry case would seal the deal for me. Still a 5-star product.
Very happy to receive this chess set. The shipping was quick, the seller efficient and friendly :)
