Being able to combine the Technology of a Chessnut Board with the luxury of Royal Chess Mall's sensor compatible chess pieces is a match made in heaven. I love my new Craftsman Staunton set. The wood grain in the golden rosewood pieces is stunning.

I Collect Chess Sets and have long wanted a painted set, this is my first and it's absolutely stunning! A work of art actually and the white and green really work well together. I thought it might look hand painted or something but not at at all, they just look immaculate. Next I'm going for the black and red pieces when then next become available. These sell out fast and now I know why!

I recently purchased the Craftsman Series Staunton Chess Set in Ebony and Boxwood with the 3.9" King. I bought a slightly imperfect set on sale, so I'd like to address this in my review.
Let me say first off that I am completely happy with the set. It is very lovely and as I intend to actually play games with the set, it is a perfect height and weight.
Many people may be reluctant to purchase an imperfect set, One doesn't know what kind of imperfections the set may have. I have purchase imperfect sets from Royal Chess Mall in the past and I have no reluctance to do so in the future. There are slight differences in the color if the pieces, especially the white pawns. Since I intend to use this for tournament play, these small color variations make no difference to me. These pieces will be handled; they will discolor with age and use. I regard this as the normal patina of use.
In addition to color difference, there is a marked difference in weight for some of the pieces. Again, this makes no difference to me as a player.
I can highly recommend buying sets from Royal Chess Mall. I also recommend picking up their slightly imperfect sets if you intend to actually use them. They are a great deal.
On top of that, Royal Chess Mall provides great service, no additional fees, free shipping and I received the set in about a week!

What a wonderful storage box!
The Heritage Series Staunton Chess pieces my wife gave me for my (70+) birthday are wonderful! Not only do I love to play with them, but I also want to preserve them longer-term for my (grand)children.
That's why I'm so happy that I was given this beautiful and sturdy storage box at the same time. Whether I play at home or would visit a chess friend, all my chess pieces snugly fit in their separate beds of each tray. Thus they can be easily stored, and safely transported without risk of collision damage.

What can I say? The pieces are exquisite, and it came in only a week! I couldn’t be happier with Royal Chess Mall.
The 23″ bag fits the board perfectly and feels well-padded and sturdy. The zippers are smooth, the handles are strong, and it makes carrying a premium board safe and easy. Very practical for storage and transport.

The carving on the knights is impressive, and the pieces have a nice, steady weight. Everything feels solid and well-made on the board, with the knights especially standing out and feeling premium in hand.
The craftsmanship of this set is spectacular. Pictures of these pieces don't do them justice. They are nicely weighted and look great. The companion storage box is also top notch quality.
This is my second set from RCM. The quality is excellent as is the sturdy packaging. Extras include second Queens and tote bags for the pieces. Very happy with communications and speed of shipping. Highly recommended

Notwithstanding the product description of “Slightly Imperfect,” it’s hard to find flaws with what I received. The pieces are excellent. That is a testament to Royal Chess Mall and its high standards. As for the delivery, there was a snafu with US customs, but eventually the folks at Royal Chess Mall came through and I got my order. A truly beautiful chess set. The Knights, Bishops, King, and Queen are unique. The very wide base makes these chessmen very stable on the board. It's not hard to believe that this model was greatly appreciated by the great Bobby Fischer!

I've purchased a few sets from Royal Chess Mall and these are my favorite. The Ebony wood used is beautiful and I love the design. The double weighting of the pieces feels so nice in my hands. The shipping, even though from Im in the USA and they are in India, was really fast. Each piece was wrapped in foam separately to prevent damage.

Ces pièces sont uniques ! Elles font penser à Morphy, Andersen, Staunton, La Pentier, etc. Ce sont des pièces qui invitent au toucher, avec leur ébène froid, noir comme la nuit et leur aspect brillant. Le buis vieilli n'a pas vraiment un aspect vieilli, mais plutôt un aspect ambré ou jaunâtre, très particulier et charmant en soi, mais ce n'est pas exactement du buis vieilli/oxydé, il faut en tenir compte. Je les ai beaucoup aimées, mais je peux comprendre que pour certains, elles soient « trop ». Le détail du design est unique, les bases sont très larges, les pièces sont à la fois robustes et élégantes, le roi est imposant, les cavaliers sont clairement les méchants de l'ensemble, les pions sont très particuliers, bien que simples, leur large base leur donne un aspect unique, sophistiqué et singulier. J'ai eu un petit problème avec le roi blanc qui m'est arrivé taché de rouge, mais Royalchess m'a très rapidement remplacé la pièce. La qualité du service est impeccable, très différente de celle d'autres sites. En résumé, ce sont de véritables joyaux si vous aimez les pièces classiques avec une touche particulière.
Royal Chess Mall had a quick delivery to US with pieces arriving in perfect condition. All the slender pieces are straight without lean.
Aesthetically, I find the style clean and elegant with expressive knights. I really struggled choosing between this set and Royal Chess Mall's Dubrovnik or Zagreb sets. The knights are perhaps just a touch large for a fall line from the king to rook. When looking at the photos online, I worried that the queen and bishop lack distinction, but viewed in person it isn't a problem. The queen has a noticeably larger presence.
As noted in other reviews, the color of the light pieces is more golden than the toffee shade of other antiqued/distressed sets. I have two 57mm wooded boards, ebony/maple and rosewood/maple. Personally, I like the ebony/maple combo better.
En general, estoy muy satisfecho y tendré en cuenta a RCM para futuras compras.
